An advantage of Lightspeed’s soundfield solutions is that teacher Flexmikes and student Sharemikes is that they ‘talk’ to sounfield solutions (including the Redcat Access and 955 systems) on a platform that is separate and distinct from other technology in a School.
But what does this mean?
The platform used by wifi and live performance equipment usually is the 2.4 GHZ frequency. To run at their peak, its best to have this frequency as uncluttered as possible.
That’s why our technology is purposely built to operate on a different frequency (1.9 GHZ) so that wifi and the like gets as much space as possible, and so that our platform can work at its peak.
A Queensland independent school reported to us that “Our IT department has also been impressed by the fact the Hear and Learn systems run in a 1.9GHZ range and therefore not on our wireless system (2.4GHZ).”
The frequency we use also is a very stable and flexible wireless frequency that allows for placing multiple systems within a school without interference between them as they are paired to individual microphones. We also can accommodate diverse room sizes and shapes without any concern for interference or dropout.
