Elite independent school adopts Hear and Learn all-in-one SoundHouse to converge classroom audio technology

Hear and Learn recently completed a six-room new build at a prestigious independent school, reinforcing the importance of investing in a purpose-built solution for all audio needs in learning spaces.

Praised by the school’s head of IT as “excellent,” the SoundHouse delivers three key outcomes:

  1. Hearing augmentation – Recognising the growing use of hearing aids with built-in receivers from different manufacturers, the school required a universal solution. The SoundHouse seamlessly integrates with various platforms, including Phonak Roger, Resound, and Auracast-enabled devices. By capturing all inbuilt amplified audio—PA announcements, front office messaging, and audio from screens or projectors—our bespoke electronics ensure compatibility with any hearing aid receiver.
  2. Soundfield technology – The SoundHouse enables teachers’ voices to be captured and distributed through in-ceiling speakers, creating an immersive, theatre-like listening environment for all students, known as soundfield. The TCQ ceiling tile speaker replaces standard ceiling panels to provide uniform sound coverage.

  3. Screen and projector audio distribution – The same speaker infrastructure that enhances teacher voices also transmits audio from visual devices. This eliminates the need for additional speakers, such as soundbars or wall-mounted units, streamlining classroom audio systems.

By implementing this advanced, all-in-one solution, the school has future-proofed its classrooms, ensuring an inclusive learning environment for years to come.
