The evolution of soundfield equipment, which can be known as teacher microphone equipment, or classroom sound enhancement equipment, has been steady and strong over the years in Australia.
Australian Hearing used to manufacture it’s own soundfield equipment years ago which involved cabling, teachers wearing belt packs, and the system using FM radio channels that clashed with things like CB radios and which are now used for mobile phone transmissions. Great for its day, but now obsolete.
And other manufacturers, like Lightspeed, improved on these technologies by using other forms of transmission methods including microphones that used infra-red light to get from microphone to device.
Front Row and Phonak create soundfield equipment too which are very effective. Lightspeed have gone one better though.
The priority for Hear and Learn and Lightspeed, manufacturers of the Redcat and Flexmike, is simplicity and teacher comfort. Still the smallest and lightest teacher microphones in the market, Flexmike are getting smaller and lighter again.
And in the new Covid normal, we are seeing demand for teachers being able to use their own personal Flexmike to avoid sharing microphones.
So, just like we do with cars, we are offering trade-ins. That is, say you have old Lightspeed equipment including old Redcats and Redmikes or you have old Australian Hearing equipment or comparable equipment made by other suppliers but hate the thought of throwing it away, we have a plan.
We have partnered with an E-Waste / Recycling company to recycle any brand and type of soundfield equipment you have. Should you decide to upgrade to our new Redcat and new Flexmike, we will pay you for that old gear and we will dispose of it in way that minimised environmental impact.
